EBEN "BOB" HILL
Eben Robert Hill, known by friends as “Bob”, age 76, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2010. Bob was the beloved husband of Dolores “Brad” Hill for over 52 years and the devoted father of Vicki Seibert, Katherine O’Connor, Susan Jordan, Eric Hill, Traci Hulse and Michael Hill. He was also the proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren.
Bob was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts to the late Eben Butler Hill and Loretta Hill Duncan. He graduated from M.I.T with a B.S. and Masters in Chemical Engineering and a M.B.A. from the University of Delaware. He began his career at DuPont where he worked for over 37 years, primarily in the Fluoropolymers Division. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working as editor and photographer of the “FluoroNews” for the Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI).
Bob loved being with his family, traveling, reading, learning digital photography, and gardening. He volunteered many years in the school and church communities. An avid golfer and tennis player, he enjoyed joining his buddies for a game and lunch as often as he could. He delighted in long walks, chatting with neighbors, and a good cup of coffee.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 12:00 noon. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:30am at the Brandywine Valley Baptist Church, 7 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803. Burial will be at a later date in West Virginia.
