Doris E. Dooley
Age 93, of Luther Towers II and formerly of Holly Oak, joined the Church Triumphant, on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in the Christiana Hospital.
Doris was born is Selbyville, raised on the family farm in Sussex County and graduated from Caesar Rodney HS in 1934. She was a faithful attendee of Calvary United Methodist Church, where she was active. Doris was an instrumental part of the Christian Life of Luther Towers II. She had been a member of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service. As a homemaker, Doris enjoyed her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Doris’s husband, James J., died in 1972. She is survived by her children, James W. and his wife Thelma, of Wilmington, Anthony H. and his wife Lois, of Orwigsburg, PA, Anna Lee Bachtell and her husband Donald, of Collingswood, NJ and Linda Raimondo and her husband Albert of Newark; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 8, at 2pm at the Chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE, where friends may call after 1pm. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
