MARIE JESTER
Marie E. Jester, 51, a lifelong resident of Delaware, died suddenly on January 2, 2010.
Daughter of the late Edward L. and Ollaine Gsell, Marie graduated from Claymont High School and the University of Delaware and worked , before retiring, as the office manager for Custom Improvers. She loved nature, especially gardening and took great pride in her yard. An avid crafter and very artistic, Marie loved to hand paint birdhouses and Christmas tree ornaments, knit, and crochet. Marie enjoyed being a homemaker and took special care of her devoted husband and their 2 maltese dogs, Gracie and Riley. She also enjoyed photography and was an avid quilter – volunteering for the Linus Group in Newark which makes blankets for babies and children with cancer. Marie volunteered for the Marine Corps League and was just named technical assistant to the commandant.
Marie is survived by her husband of 29 years, Warner R. Jester; their babies, Gracie and Riley; 1 brother, Edward Gsell of Ft. Myers, FL; her cousin, Susan Hoffman; and aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, January 7 at the McCrery Memorial Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Talleyville (Route 202, south of Silverside Rd.), where friends may call after 9:30. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring the memory of Marie E. Jester by sending a contribution to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
