KRISTIN P. CAIN
Kristin (Paulson) Cain
Age 57, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 26, 2009 in the Christiana Hospital.
Kris grew up in Claymont and attended Holy Rosary School and graduated from Padua Academy in 1970. She graduated from Broome Community College, Binghamton, NY, with a degree in Dental Hygiene, where she was a member of Sigma Phi Alpha, a dental Hygiene Honor Society. Kris worked 34 years at White Clay Dental Associates, Drs. Donald Bond and Timothy D. Ganfield. The practice was formerly Robert D. Hooper, DDS, with whom she worked for many years. She loved serving her patients and hearing about their families.
Kris volunteered for the American Cancer Society, Reach to Recovery Program, a mentoring program for women in active breast cancer treatment. She attended Skyline United Methodist Church. For many years, she was a member of Parish of the Resurrection, where she has kept many close friendships. Kris was a member of the Wilmington Trail Club and as an avid hiker she loved the trails of White Clay Creek State Park.
Kris is survived by her husband of 31years, Charles J. Cain, Sr.; 2 sons, “CJ” and his wife Angela of Catonsville, MD and Joseph of Baltimore, MD; her parents, Mary and Joseph Paulson of Claymont; 6 siblings, Kathleen Paulson(Jeff Heath) of Ventura, CA, Anthony (Joan Benderson) of University Place, WA, Noelle Wright of Chaska, MN, Elise Leach(John) of Upland, PA, Andrea Paulson(Miguel Maravi) of Somerville, MA and Nicholas Paulson(Eileen) of Wilmington and many nieces and nephews.
Kris’s family would like to thank Dr. Biggs and his nurses, the support staff at the Helen Graham Center, Dr. Bill Funk and Dr. Clifton Hunt for their excellent care.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009, at 11am, at Skyline United Methodist Church, 3100 Skyline Dr., Wilmington, DE 19808. “In keeping with Kris’s spirit, the family request casual, happy attire.” Burial will be private.
