JOHN WESLEY LYNAM

John Wesley Lynam John Wesley Lynam, 90, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2009 in Newark, DE. He was a kind, generous and devout Christian who was affectionately known as Wes. He will be missed by his family and many friends in Wilmington, Newark, Rehoboth, and Milford. Wes enjoyed watching sports, gardening, and spending time with family. He was born April 12, 1919 in Wilmington, DE to Frank and Bertha Lynam, and was brother to Alfred, Carlton, Dorsey, and Marjorie. He received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree in 1941 from the University of Delaware and was a long time member of ASME. His career spanned more than 40 years. He retired from Joseph Bancroft and Sons and worked part time well into his 70’s. In addition he was also active n volunteer organizations such as the Wilmington Manor Fire Co. and the PTA. Wes is survived by his beloved Mary Jane, wife of 64 years; 2 sons, John W. Lynam, Jr. of Newark, and Kenneth G. Lynam of West Grove, PA; and 6 grandchildren, Kelly, Kevin, Jenna, Sarah, Dana, and Colleen. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm. Interment will be in St. Georges Cemetery.
